“I chose to enroll in the Legacy Medical Academy Pre-Nursing program because after seeing my family in the funeral industry, I would like to spend some time helping people heal or help take care of people in their final years. Working as a CNA in a nursing home before I attend nursing school will allow me the chance to do just that! My ultimate goal is to give people closure by finding out what happened to them through autopsies. I plan to get my BSN to become a trauma nurse and maybe go for a medical degree to become a forensic pathologist.”
From the instructor
Andria is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to her commitment to the CTE program, she participates in swimming and diving, track and field, and works as a lifeguard before school and after practice. Despite her busy schedule, she maintains a 4.0 GPA and nearly perfect attendance. Andria has also gained valuable experience in the mortuary field by working alongside her mother, who holds an associate degree in mortuary science and is employed at a funeral home. I have no doubt that Andria’s drive and determination will allow her to go very far in life and achieve all of her goals!
