Our QMA program prepares Certified Nursing Assistants to safely administer medications under RN supervision. With 60 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of clinical practicum at your place of employment (long-term care facility), participants will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in this specialized role.

Total tuition is $1,500. The $100 deposit secures your spot. The remaining balance is split into two payments: $700 due at orientation and $700 due on the first day of class.

New cohorts start every five weeks. Classes meet Mondays and Thursdays from 8 AM to 3 PM for five weeks: 60 hours of classroom instruction followed by 40 hours of practicum.
No. All 60 hours of instruction must be completed in person at Legacy’s training facility.
You’ll complete a total of 100 hours—60 hours of classroom instruction at our facility and 40 hours of clinical practicum at your place of employment (long-term care or assisted living facility).
Your 40-hour clinical practicum is completed at the long-term care or assisted living facility where you are employed. A licensed RN at that facility will directly supervise your medication-administration practice.
Yes. You must be employed at the facility where you’ll complete your 40-hour practicum. That site must sign the QMA Clinical Agreement before you begin.
Classroom topics include pharmacology fundamentals, medication calculations, administration techniques (oral, topical, inhaled, etc.), infection control and supply disposal, recognition and reporting of adverse reactions and side effects, documentation standards, legal and ethical responsibilities, and hands-on skill labs using real medical equipment.
All required documents—including a photo ID, vaccination card, diploma/GED, and proof of CNA certification—must be submitted by the first day of class.
You must pass a clear background check. Any felony conviction or any conviction for criminal conversion within the past five years will disqualify you from the program.
Orientation sessions and class start dates are listed in our online registration calendar. After you register and pay the deposit, you’ll receive an email with specific dates. Clinical practicum scheduling is coordinated individually with your employing facility.
No. All practicum hours must occur during daytime shifts only, so your supervising RN can be present for direct oversight.

Once you finish the 100-hour program and pass the QMA exam, Indiana regulations allow you to immediately begin working as a Qualified Medication Aide in long-term care and assisted living facilities. Many graduates receive employment offers from their existing facilities before program completion.
